“My culture is fading away. My language is disappearing into thin air. My parents grew up on the Navajo reservation. They were taught and lived the traditional way. They’ve been able to give me what they never had; an education. I’ve always wanted to be a physician. The words “Navajo” and “Doctor” are not often seen together, but a minority can travel across cultural, class, and educational borders and become a part of the medical world. Once the time is right I will start my own practice on or near the Navajo reservation. This is part of my plan to help my people.”
