“As a society, we remain largely ignorant to the plight of those infected by AIDS. The peril is too great. We need to act now. I plan to pursue higher education in the fi elds of public policy and medicine, and use my knowledge and leadership ability to combat this injustice. It is my goal to create an internationally-fi nanced AIDS program... it’s a lofty proposition... but the crisis before us warrants something of this magnitude.
