“Living in the suburbs, it is not usually expected that a middle class teenager would notice many problems in the social environment around her. I however, have been exposed to the hardships of being poor, a minority, and unable to do anything to truly change my life. As I enter my freshman year at Loyola University Chicago, I hope that by the end of my training I will be able to achieve my dream of running an organization that provides free or discounted mental health care to underprivileged minorities both in the city and surrounding areas of Chicago.”
